2. How is the weather during different times of the year ?
Coorg which is sometimes refered to as the Scotland of India is known for its salubrious and comfortable climate.
3. Can a novice participate in the events ?
A novice can particpate in most of the events that are conducted by CIAS. However events such as Paragliding, Hang Gliding, Rock Climbing and certain aqua sports like Wind Surfing and Water Skiing require prior training.
4. What is the level of fitness needed to participate in the events ?
A person of moderate fitness level can participate in most of the events.
5. How safe are the events ?
CIAS is known for its stringent safety standards. CIAS provides safety equipment like helmets, life jackets, knee pads etc for appropriate events. In all the events we have qualified instructors to conduct and guide the participants.
6. What is the level of training obtained by the instructors ?
CIAS instructors are experienced and qualified. Our instructors have undergone training in establishments such as Naval Boat Club - Cochin, General Thimmaiah Academy of Adventure Sports - Bangalore, National Paragliding Academy - Pune, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute - Darjeeling and Directorate of Moutaineering and Allied Events - Manali.

Advance booking
: Please contact us by E-Mail or through tele nos given below to reserve participation in the events of your choice. We require 10 to 14 days prior notice to provide you assured participation. However the participants are required to pay  50% of the tariff as advance at least 7 days before the event..
In case of notice less than 7 days, your group may take a chance for participation in adventure events provided vacancy exists. However 50% of tariff as advance is to be paid 5 days before the event by DD payable at Gonikoppal. Balance 50% of the tariff is to be paid on reporting for the event.

8. What is the attire recommended to be worn for the various events ?
Terrestrial Activities

a) Trekking & Nature Camp

  • Ankle boots with good grip, T-Shirt (preferably green or dull coloured), Jeans and rain cape during rainy season.
  • For over night stay treks, Light tents, Sleeping bags, Backpacks, Crockery & Cutlery, Food etc would be provided by CIAS.

b) Rappelling

  • Ankle boots,Jeans & Full sleeved T-Shirt. (However helmet, leather gloves & climbing gear would be provided by CIAS)

c) Rock Climbing (would be introduced in the future)

  • Special Rock Climbing Shoes, Shorts/Loose pants & Full sleeved T-Shirt. (However helmet & climbing gear would be provided by CIAS)

For Aqua Sport Events

  • Participants should be attired in ‘T’ Shirt & Cycling shorts or Burmudas & Swimming Costume / Trunk.and also carry sun-cream.

For River Rafting

  • Participants should be attired in ‘T’ Shirt & Cycling shorts or Burmudas or Water resistant ¾ loose pant and Keds or Samson/Kudos sandals with strap for fastening.
  • A set of change of clothes and a towel should be carried by each participant.

For Aero Sports

  • Participants should be attired in Full sleeves‘T’ Shirt, Jacket, Thick Jeans and Ankle boots. (However the helmet & harness would be provided by CIAS)

10. Does CIAS provide accomodation?

No, CIAS does not provide accomodation to the participants. There are numerous hotels and home stays available in Coorg, the details of which are given below. On enquiry from you for accomodation, we could suggest particulars of accomodation near the venue of activities, to enable the participants / leaders / agents to book accomodation in advance.
